    Hi
I’m living in Jordan and I need to work from home .

    best regard

Mustafa, I wasn’t sure what you were looking for, a job or a home business so I’ll give you some information on both. Without knowing anything about your background, skills or experience it’s impossible to make any specific recommendations to you.

Most of the work at home jobs I see fall into one of these categories:
    Sales
    Programming/Graphic Design
    Transcription
    Translation
    Writing
    Customer Service

What many of these jobs have in common is that they are for very highly specialized skills (like transcription and translation) and require schooling or certification. If you have experience in one of these areas, that’s great– you’re ahead of the game. If not, you might consider taking some courses at a local college or online to get yourself the experience that’s required to be competitive in this job market.

At my site you’ll find work at home job listings, listings of companies that hire homebased customer service agents, data entry and transcription jobs.

If you think you may want to start a home business but aren’t sure what you want to do, you might find this blog post I wrote a while back helpful. It gives you some exercises you can do to brainstorm. And also this one: A Practical Guide to Starting a Home Business.

I hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you.

Sharon, Mustafa doesn’t need to have highly specialized skills. He really mostly needs basic computer skills and knows a little bit how to type. Jobs such as at West Corporation will train him completely for their positions and so will Lionbridge. Those are great places for him to start.

I still work with West which i got through you and i also worked on contract for Lionbridge, which i also got through you.

  4. sharon says:

@ M. Reid: I’m very happy to hear that you found work through my site. You’re right that some companies have less stringent requirements, however most of the telecommute job listings that I see are for specialized skills. How is it working for West Co.? I’m trying to get someone from their company on my radio show but haven’t gotten a response.

  5. M. Reid says:

Working with West is great. I’ve been with them since 2007. I found your website in 2007 and by the second week of applying for the West job, i was hired and started to train. Honestly though, i’ve clashed with a supervisor over my work and that’s okay because they don’t let any mistake get past them, but overall it is great. The absolutely greatest thing is that i choose my own hours – that’s how it has been from the beginning and nothing has changed about that. They contract with many companies so if one assignment for any reason is temporary, there’ll always be another assignment they’ll put you on. It is stable, steady employment and they are serious about keeping their workers happy.

  6. M. Reid says:

Oh, and thankyou very much Sharon. You’ve gone all out to help us homebodies and that’s amazing. Thankyou
