I wasn’t sure what you were looking for, a job or a home business so I’ll give you some information on both. Without knowing anything about your background, skills or experience it’s impossible to make any specific recommendations to you.

Most of the work at home jobs I see fall into one of these categories:
    Sales
    Programming/Graphic Design
    Transcription
    Translation
    Writing
    Customer Service

What many of these jobs have in common is that they are for very highly specialized skills (like transcription and translation) and require schooling or certification. If you have experience in one of these areas, that’s great– you’re ahead of the game. If not, you might consider taking some courses at a local college or online to get yourself the experience that’s required to be competitive in this job market.

At my site you’ll find work at home jobs, companies that hire home based customer service agents, data entry and transcription.

If you think you may want to start a home business but aren’t sure what you want to do, you might find this blog post I wrote a while back helpful. It gives you some exercises you can do to brainstorm. And also this one: A Practical Guide to Starting a Home Business.

I hope this is helpful. Best of luck to you.

wow thought your programs were work at home businessess that didn’t cost anything to get started. yet arise costs 314.00 just to get going.

  15. sharon says:

Delores, starting a business costs money. Arise offers a contract opportunity, you run your business as a contractor. I’ve never seen a business opportunity that didn’t have costs involved.

A job, on the other hand should not have any fees. The listings on the blog are all free. Arise is the only exception to that.

    Hope this clarifies.
