Julie,

First, I am not compensated in any way by either Leapforce or Lionbridge. The post is strictly informational.

You're right, I have never worked for either company. I did research both companies while I was writing this post back in February of 2009. I do research what I write about, but I don't take it so far as to actually work for every company.

It's unfortunate that you (and yes, it seems many others) have had such a negative experience. There are many others who have left positive feedback. I think that's true for any company.

I hope you find a company that is a better match for you. Best of luck to you.

I presume that you get paid for promoting this company, but your comment about this company is ridiculous and clearly you have had NO real contact with them as an employee, or someone just trying to get through their ridiculous requirements for being hired. I have and their system stinks. I applied with them and was accepted to take their test. I studied very carefully and used the guidelines to take the test. I passed part 1 and was sent part two, which is 144 actual rating tasks, which many complaints I have read from others, state that they actually believe that you are being used for free labor.

I had problem after problem with glitches in their system while trying to submit those 144 tasks, and have no way of even knowing if they received all of them or not. I received an email stating that I had not passed Part 2, which I believe that I did, as I am a college educated woman, with experience at Internet research and followed their guidelines to a "T" while rating the 144 sites, however I took their reply and did as they asked and deleted all information from them off of my computer.

Their FAQ section states that you can not retake the test again, but within two minutes of being told that I did not pass Part 2, I was sent another email stating that I would be scheduled to again take the test the following week. Stupidly, I again did as was instructed by them and again studied the guidelines carefully and used them as instructed while taking Part 1 of the test, and I know that once again I passed it. Instead of receiving the email that I had when previously completing Part 1 and passing, I got an immediate auto generated email that did NOT state whether or not I had passed Part 1, like I received the time before, but simply stating that I was not a good fit for their scam company and was no longer being considered for the job. Needless to say I was angry at all of the wasted time, but I wrote it off.

Then today I get another auto generated email from this inept company stating that my test time had begun and AGAIN got the same instructions of how to log into the system and begin taking Part 1 of the SAME test I completed yesterday and NEVER received any confirmation as to whether or not I had passed it, along with Part 2 of the test. It is as if I HAD NEVER submitted my answers to Part 1 just yesterday at all. I have already wasted two weeks of my precious time with this unscrupulous company, and refuse to spend one more minute on them.

I have also been reading numerous complaints on boards stating just how badly this company is run, how poorly they treat their employees, how they have mass terminations with no cause, when people had received NOTHING BUT GOOD REVIEWS of their work, and how there is problems between the time that employees invoice the company for work done and the time that the company will pay them for. There is also NUMEROUS tasks for which people DO NOT get paid. You work for 30 days, invoice them and then wait up to another thirty days to get paid, if you get paid at all.

You either need to fully research this scam of a company before you write such a glowing review, or come clean that you are getting paid for giving them one.

Hi Jack,

Are you referring to Lionbridge specifically? I do know that their requirements change from time to time. You should check every so often to see if it opens up in your area.

If you mean the listings that I post here in general, many of the listings have no geographical requirements. Some do, but there are always jobs that don't.

I find it annoying that the job opportunities are for specific countries which means I can't apply to it

I've been working for lionbridge since dec 2009 I havn't worked about 5 months but when I was working I was getting paid like I should it doesn't go by how many hours you put in its about how many tasks you do when I was working I would have to do 32 task to count for an hour I use to do about 45 to 50 an hour meaning I was getting paid for about 5 to 6 hours of work for really doing 4 don't get me wrong not every one will be able to go that fast and rate at a good quality so it depends on how fast you work

I tried the leap force exam and failed the first part but I really didn't study the guidelines they provide so it was my fault. My question is this can you reapply with them and if so how long do I need to wait before I can do that??

I used to be with Leapforce and now want to apply to Lionbridge. Does any one know if it is a good idea to mention my Leapforce experience on my resume to Lionbridge or will that information not work in my favor ?
