When I need information about identity theft, I can always count on the FTC website. They have a whole section for people who are researching or writing about identity theft. Today I found a nifty tool from OnGuard Online: The ID Theft Faceoff. It’s a quiz that tests your knowledge of ID theft. The quiz itself is not a comprehensive training tool, but it’s fun to see if you get all the questions right– and get your face back…you’ll see what I mean
The main identity theft area for consumers is here and this is the page I’m talking about for you information hounds.
Phishing is one of the most common ways that people can try to steal your identity. Watch this video to learn more about it.

This is good stuff, don’t wait until you’ve been burned. Educate yourself now.

Hi Sharon,
I am Marie. I live in Miami, Florida. I am the mother of 2 children, 11 and 15. I have been communicating with you regarding the work-at-home program. I am longing to either work at home full time or work part time in the evening in order to make some extra money to live comfortably. My actual salary is peanut, and I am fed up about that “from paycheck to paycheck” life; moreover a paycheck that can’t even make ends meet.
I would appreciate it if you could e-mail me regularly a list of WAH jobs that are reliable. You have been e-mailing a list these past 2 mondays, however I cannot tell which one is reliable or not. There are some many WAH sites on your site or blog that I am sort of lost and confused. If you could refer me some legitimate sites, and even give me some advice on how to make my dream come true, I would greatly appreciate it.
I want to congratulate you for your blog. This is a big step. It is nice, very interesting and informative. Another aspect is that when I log onto your blog, I know that I am safe, and that I am not dealing with any SCAMS, which I am afraid of.
I am looking forward to communicate with you soon.
Have a wonderful day!
Hi Marie,
You’re certainly not alone and I can totally relate having been in the same situation myself (which is why I started my business– but that’s a story for another day…)
I see that you subscribe to The Job Listings Weekly. You’ll find that there are various categories. One of them is the Home Business category. This is the only category that will contain business opps that require any kind of investment. All other categories are for actual telecommute jobs or contract work and should not involve any fees. In fact, if you ever see one that does ask for money, please let me know so I can address it.
Either way, it’s always a good idea to check a company out at the Better Business Bureau website. They’ve recently redesigned their website and now they have information there on how to do a Whois lookup to find the contact information for a company.
I hope this is helpful. Thanks for your comments.
Warmly,
Sharon
Thank you Sharon.
Best regards,
Marie
