Debra Cohen is President of her own company, Home Remedies® of NY, Inc. and, at 42 years old, defines the “mom of the new millennium” by balancing both career and family.
In August 1996, on the eve of her 29th birthday, Ms. Cohen left a successful eight-year career as VP of a global aviation magazine for a less glamorous pursuit – motherhood. Over the next six months she developed a business plan and in February of ‘97 launched Home Remedies® a comprehensive Homeowner Referral Network (HRN). In its first six months of operation, Home Remedies® was profitable and boasted a client list of over 100 satisfied homeowners throughout Nassau County, Long Island.
In December of 1997 Ms. Cohen wrote a business manual entitled The Complete Guide To Owning And Operating A Successful Homeowner Referral Network© which outlines her step-by-step operating plan for Home Remedies® She is currently marketing the manual along with HRN Business Packages worldwide to other prospective entrepreneurs looking for a viable home based business. To date there are more than 300 HRN’s operating globally.
Ms. Cohen graduated cum laude in 1989 from Union College in Schenectady, NY with a BS in Psychology and Spanish. She and her husband, Charles, and daughters, Emily (14 years) and Sophie (10 years), reside in Hewlett, NY.
