Well, I bit the bullet yesterday and bought a new laptop. I decided on the Lenovo ThinkPad SL400. It looks like it has pretty much everything I was looking for. It’s also the top pick at PCWorld’s Top 10 All-Purpose Laptops. My goal is to use it exclusively for my business. I’m also getting an external hard drive which I will set up to do automatic backups of my data on a daily basis.
Right now, my desktop pc is the only computer in the house. With a tween in the house, you can imagine the competition for computer time. Unfortunately for my daughter, running my business outranks going on Horse Isle, Myspacing and searching for pictures of Edward Cullen any day.
This will allow me to keep my business data completely separate and hopefully also help me to be more productive. As much as I love working out of my home, I am looking forward to cozying down with a nice cup of tea at Starbucks or even better at our funky little local coffehouse Headlands.
I’ll keep you posted on how it works out for me once I receive it.
