I want to hug it. I want to give it a nice, big kiss….muah!
In a previous post, I told you how I lost my hard drive. Well, long story short it is unrecoverable. All my pictures of my kids since about 2002. All my music! Oh God my music! I’ve either printed out, scrapbooked or uploaded all of my favorite pictures, so I guess I can live without the “non-favorites” that were lost.
But my music…thousands of songs…ugh. So, yesterday I started looking into how I can get my music off of my iPod and back onto my computer (and into iTunes). You’d think that would be a built-in feature right? Wrong. Apple feels that it would allow people to steal music too easily. Unfortunately that means that it doesn’t allow people who have lost a hard drive or bought a new computer to transfer all of their music files.
Well, with a bit of research I found a nifty little program called CopyTrans that will take care of that problem. It transfers all of your music from your iPod right into iTunes or back into a folder on your computer if you’d rather do that. It preserves all of your playlists, track information, everything. All of my music is back on iTunes and ready to be backed up properly onto other media like I should have in the first place.
Well, that’s not even the best part….as I was doing this I realized that all of my pictures were on my iPod! As soon as I saw that, I remembered that in fact they were on there but I never looked at them on my iPod and had forgotten. And guess what? This company makes another nifty little program, CopyTrans Photo, that does the same thing for pictures! Sweet!
