Well, we didn’t do much this summer in the way of traveling, so now I find myself cramming in some last minute trips. Casey (my youngest daughter) and I just got back from a quickie trip to visit my best friend in San Pedro. It’s kind of a grueling trip because it takes almost 4 hours just to get the the airport in Oakland. Kind of silly for a one-hour flight I know, but it’s better than an 11 hour drive! My friend and I were pregnant together and so her daughter is one week younger than Casey. They are like sisters 
We had a great time, caught a movie (Sisterhood of course), did a little shopping, Casey got her ears pierced…
We just got home last night and now we’re turning right around to take our next little jaunt to visit my mom. Lauren came down from Humboldt last night so she could come with us…just us girls to surprise my mom. She’s been feeling down lately and needs some cheering up. We can only stay for a day or two because Casey starts school on Monday and has to register by Friday.
We have a short summer over here so it can be hard to get in as much traveling as we would like, but next year I’m definitely going to plan ahead so that I don’t end up trying to cram a whole summer’s worth into the last week!
