I haven't heard of them. Are you receiving and shipping packages? If so, then yes it is fake and you should report them.

Thanks for replying to my comment, Sharon! I'm glad I didn't get duped into getting really involved in his scam but still can't believe I got involved in the first place. FedEx came to my door this afternoon with a package from The Gap that I didn't order so I refused it. It was a 2nd day delivery so I bet it was ordered last Thursday so I'd get it today since Friday's package was next day UPS & had been ordered on Thursday. I should've gotten the tracking # from FedEx but didn't think of that till after the guy had left.

No more emails, texts or weird calls from that weirdo (I didn't reply to him Saturday even though I totally wanted to!) but it looks like he definitely had plans for me to be one of his package mules.

Rodrigue,

This is definitely a scam. I have never seen a legitimate job shipping packages. This involves money laundering and credit card fraud. You should report them immediately through www.ic3.gov.

If you want to find legitimate work you can do from home, check my job listings here on the blog and also the following sections of my website:
<a href="http://www.2work-at-home.com/dataentry.shtml" rel="nofollow">Data Entry jobs</a>
<a href="http://www.2work-at-home.com/customer-service-jobs.shtml" rel="nofollow">Customer Service jobs</a>
And here is the <a href="http://jobs.2work-at-home.com/a/jobs/find-jobs" rel="nofollow">job board</a> on my site.

I hope this is helpful. Good luck!

Hi Catherine,

You've done all the right things. At this point I would have no further contact with him. Let the FBI take it from here. You are certainly not the only one who has fallen for this scam. I don't know how these people sleep at night.

I applied for a job posted on SimplyHired.com. A guy named Robert Ginn from Zinox Inc. replied saying it was a simple job shipping packages. I hadn't heard of any sort of shipping scam since they didn't ask for personal info or banking account #s, I didn't think much of it till yesterday when the first package arrived via UPS. It was a couple of fancy camera lenses. Ginn had a prepaid FedEx label emailed as soon as he knew the package was delivered to my home & I was told to drop it off at FedEx. I looked up possible scams & discovered this involves stolen credit cards. My name is listed as the sender & according to what I read, the stolen CCs will track back to me. I immediately reported it to the San Diego Police Dept but they can’t help so they gave me the # for their Financial Crimes Division & the recorded msg suggested I filed a complaint on ic3.gov, which I immediately did. I really didn't think that guy would contact me again after I asked so many questions in the beginning. I didn’t send the box; I've saved it for evidence. I would return it to UPS but I ripped the label when I opened it. He called me this morning using a voice relay operator (so you know he can't speak English clearly) & has continued to harass me via email. He had the voice operator leave a msg saying they've contacted the FBI & he sent an email saying the same thing (I let him know I'd reported him to authorities). I want to respond to his email saying I have no intention of keeping his ill gotten gains & welcome the FBI contacting me (the ic3.gov site is part of their cyber crimes division so I beat him to it when it comes to contacting the FBI, lol) but am not sure if I should contact him any further. I can't believe I fell for something so foolish. His emails were very professional (he used spell check, lol) and I seriously didn't think he'd ever follow up with me. Boy, was I wrong! Has anyone on here who's been duped by this scam ever been contacted by the authorities? I'm very curious about what sort of trouble I may be in. This is what happens when you're unemployed & aren't getting any interviews :(
