I have such a nice view out my dining room office window. I’ve often talked about the japanese maples that are outside and how their beautiful color changes throughout the year make me feel like I’m working outdoors (which, if I had a decent laptop, I would do).

Reading other people’s blogs and Twitter updates, I often wish I could see what they see or what their work environment looks like. In that spirit, I figured it was about time for me to post a picture of my desk and the view from my window.

Note the pile of paper on the left, only one of which is related to my work. The rest is a mixture of Casey’s HorseIsle notations, one of her composition books, her ear piercing care chart, a sign she made for the Jason Mraz concert we’re going to and other detritus.

Also on the left is my lifeline to sanity, my iPod. It plays continuously throughout the day.

Barely visible are the lottery tickets under the hummingbird which hangs from my lamp (a gift from my older daughter Lauren). Those don’t need any further explanation I’m sure.

Also barely visible on the lower-left is my guitar which I tend to pick up when I’m bored, frustrated, uninspired, etc.

So, this is where I sit at this moment writing.  I welcome your comments, organizational tips and favorite guitar tabs ;)
